St Wulstan's Catholic Primary School

We come to school to love, learn and share in the light of Jesus

PTFA information

Everyone connected to the school is already a member of St Wulstan’s Parent Teacher Friend Association (PTFA) so why not get active and become involved.

For 2016/17 our committee is made up of:

Chair: Ed Howard

Vice Chair: Alison Wainwright

Secretary: Neil Bradshaw

Treasurer: Gemma Sheehan

We hold monthly meetings and organize and host events throughout the year. You don’t have to come to each and every meeting to be involved as whatever time you are able to spare throughout the year will make a difference, be it helping at a cake sale, a school disco, or the Summer Fayre.

We have lots of fun working together on the events our children enjoy so much. Our events are designed to be fun, entertaining, inclusive and at the same time designed to raise funds to support the school.

Where Does The Money Go?

Recently we have spent £800 on buying new sports kit for the school net ball team and coaches to help improve the identity of the school when they are out-and-about competing.

Last year we provided £5,000 towards the new playground equipment at the school. This has proved to be one of our most popular projects.

The school have further plans for improving the playground and outdoor environment and we’ll do what we can to help fund this.

Last year the PTFA paid for the Christmas school disco which was held in school time and this year we are paying for the School Panto so all children can attend.

Also in recent years the funds raised through all the PTFA activities have been used to:

  • buy a new school mini bus, allowing pupils to go on field trips, represent the school at sporting and musical events.
  • fund the provision of iPads and IT resources giving our children the opportunity to learn and develop important IT skills.
  • invest in the reading scheme books for the library, helping to generate a passion for reading and improving the literacy skills throughout the school.

Keep up-to-date with PTFA activity through our Facebook page. Search for “St Wulstan’s PTFA” then “Like” us make sure you don’t miss out on our updates.
