Welcome to St Wulstan’s
St Wulstan’s is an excellent place for children to continue their learning journey. Our school is a positive and caring environment in which every child is valued and respected.
As a Catholic School, we endeavour to provide our children with an education underpinned by Gospel teaching. Our school values form part of our weekly assemblies and each term we focus upon a different area. As a result our children are well behaved, have a strong sense of belonging and a clear understanding of our school’s message of the need to care for each other.
At St Wulstan’s, our children to come to school smiling and ready to learn. We love to see children laughing and enjoying their learning, as we believe that children learn best when motivated to do so. Our partnership with parents is part of our success and we ask that parents support their children in reading and homework
Our school offers a broad and balanced curriculum, led by highly motivated staff keen to provide the best possible learning and teaching experiences. This is delivered through a variety of opportunities in which children explore their own learning, through collaboration and exploration, alongside more traditional lessons to ensure keyskills are embedded. Each child’s attainment is closely and rigorously monitored to ensure that all children make good progress at St Wulstan’s.
The school has a rich sporting and musical tradition, with leaders in these areas constantly looking for ways to engage all children in developing their skills. In sports, the school participates in many inter school competitions and after school clubs include archery, forest school, dance and zorb ball, as well as many others. Our school choir and orchestra participate in concerts including Young Voices, Carols at Christmas, performances at local nursing homes, along with Christmas and Summer concerts.
Pastoral support for our children is key to our success. We have a strong pastoral support team who work with families and children requiring additional support. Our school believes that a proactive approach ensures that children’s needs are met at the earliest possible stages and we work closely with local agencies to ensure that our children and families are well supported and safe.
Children are welcome to join our school in the term after their third birthday, and our school offers full before and after school facilities to extend the day from 7.30am until 5.45 pm for all year groups, at an additional cost.
Our website pages provide more information about some of the activities taking place in our school. You are most welcome to visit and we encourage prospective parents to come during the school day to meet our delightful children.
We look forward to meeting you soon.
