Art and Design and Technology
This term, we are focusing our Art lessons around the artist L.S Lowry. He created images during the 20th Century (specifically during WW2) which captured city lifestyles. We are learning how to create our own images with perspective and using our new skills to draw in the style of L.S Lowry.
We also studied the artist Henry Moore who was very famous for his wax crayon and watercolour drawings which captured people's feelings during the London Blitz. We used a range of techniques including lines to create movement and tones to represent the mood to draw in the style of Henry Moore.
Key Skills (D & T): Create and refine recipes and understand the quality of materials and their strengths when building.
During our Autumn term, we are going to be re-creating WW2 recipes and we will also be selecting suitable materials to create our own Anderson Shelter which will hopefully withstand our own re-enactment of a night during the Blitz.
