Music
St Wulstan's has a strong music tradition and offers a variety of musical opportunities throughout the year.
Lessons are taught both by our specialist music teacher, Mrs Walton, and by our class teachers, and are planned to encourage enjoyment of a wide range of music; develop specific music skills and enhance learning in other curriculum areas.
Children develop their performing, listening, composing and appraising skills.
A team of peripatetic teachers teach instrumental lessons including: Brass, Violin, Cello, Guitar, Bassoon, Flute and Clarinet.
This year we are also very lucky to have Mrs Walton, who is going to be teaching piano lessons!
Our musicians have opportunity to perform during the year, at events such as the Eccleshall Music Festival, Carols for Cancer and Young Voices.
Musicians are invited to perform, such as Staffordshire Performing Arts and Key Strings and Jeff Rich from Status Quo.
We like to share our enjoyment of music with the wider community.
We take part in joint ventures with local primary and senior schools including St John Fisher College and Wolstanton High School. We go carol singing, perform in the community and raise money for charity.
We have developed close links with St John Fisher's music department.
We perform in large venues such as the Victoria Hall and Manchester Arena.
At Christmas and in the Summer term, Key Stage 2 lead a Carol Concert and Summer Serenade.
