Relationships and Sex Education

‘I have come to that you might have live and have it to the full’

(Jn.10.10)

RSHE stands for Relationships, Sex and Health Education. It is a subject that helps children and young people to learn about themselves, their relationships and their wellbeing. RSHE is a statutory part of the national curriculum in England, which means that all schools must teach it. RSHE covers topics such as families, friendships, emotions, puberty, consent, online safety, diversity and equality. RSHE aims to give children and young people the knowledge and skills they need to make informed and healthy choices in their lives.

We follow the TenTen RSE curriculum, as recommended by the Birmingham Diocese Education Service.

At St Wulstan's we believe that God has given us life and he wants us to live life to the full.

Relationships Education is taught throughout the school from our Nursery through to Year 6.  Through our carefully mapped out and planned scheme, children learn about the importance of healthy relationships, consent, and scientific understanding of the body and the repro ductive system.
